Frankly speaking, Art and Our World is turning out to be not such a boring module after all! =D Except for the lecturer, who drones and laughs to herself. (???) I feel so learned and artistic after a few days of lectures! And boy, does the lecturer know how to waste time! Spend 30 to 45 minutes on quiz, take an hour to do roll-call and before you know it, it's break time. Then after the break (which is rather long since she never specified the time given), we come back, take some time to settle in and she starts her lecture proper. And we still end EARLY!!!!! *incredulous*

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the trips to the SAM and URA building! =D It's definitely going to be much more fun than sitting in class and listening to her! But all in all, I just can't wait for the whole module to be over and I can just sit at home and rot during the month-long break.

By the way, I'm going to be damn free from now on, cos my Korean student just told me he wants to stop tuition! =X *waves goodbye to money* That's $240 lesser per month now! How to survive??!!! I need more students! And I need to stop buying! And I need to save up for my darling's 21st birthday present which is in January! =( I can just eat plain bread everyday for all meals from now on.

The days are getting longer and longer! =( Just can't wait for November 28 to arrive cos that's the day my whole family will fly to Taiwan! *excited* can't wait!

Anyways, went back to Ngee Ann today to settle some attendance sheet thingy cos if I don't, I won't get my pay on time! Was looking out for hottie, but didn't see him! =X Saw his mum though! (cos she's working in the general office) Students quite cute lah... Saw me outside school still greet me! Hehe... I could really get used to this whole greeting thingy! =D

Another happy thing, my tees are here! *whoops of joy* waited damn long for them to arrive frm US lah! But my dad wasn't very happy to see 2 parcels arrive at the same time. Not when one just arrived 2 weeks ago! He's been on my case ever since and refuses to let me touch the computer just in case I buy more stuff online. Ok lah, exaggerating. He just lectured me lah. But I really don't know what's wrong with me. I just can't stop buying! Everytime I've bought something, say a bag, I will be satisfied for like only a week and I'll feel like buying another one again! *horrified* JO! YOU NEED TO STOP BUYING!!!!!!!

Done my homework for today already. Topic is Cubism. Really regret choosing this topic! I thought that the pictures will just be of cubes. You know, something like the MDIS logo? But no! It's pictures with the cube effect! Like how difficult can! How to do collage on that? =X I'm so looking forward to the end of the module. It's just draining my life.

It's really nice to be able to see the skyline again. For once in so many days, I can finally see the outline of the buildings near my home and the moon round and clear instead of looking at it through a veil of smoke.

On a not so nice note, school starts tomorrow. =( Which means no more ogling at my hot crush, no more bumping into him 'accidentally' and no more listening to his sexy voice! =( But it also means: no more bitchy principal and vice principals, no more spoilt brats and no more shit work.

Bye, hottie.
that the prairie vole rats are the most faithful creatures on earth? According to this month's issue of Women's Health, the prairie vole rats mate with only ONE mate and live-in with that mate for the rest of their lives! How nice! Even rats are more faithful than human beings. =X So much for being the smartest animal of all, we end up being more basal than rats!

Anyways, went shopping with my family today at Bugis Village and than at Toa Payoh Central! =D Bought a pair of white peep-toe pumps($27), 4 pairs of earrings($7.50 in all), a wallet($24), and a watch($8) at Bugis Village. Then bought 2 tops($53 in all) and a handphone chain($5.70) at Toa Payoh! =D OMG. Spent $120+ in all can! But mum paid for the tops, so I'm just gonna pretend that I don't owe her any money cos she wants me to pay her back! =D Muahahahaha..... And I think I OD-ed on shopping today, so I won't be shopping anymore in the near future! ....At least for today! =D

Don't have to work tomorrow, cos it's Children's Day holiday! =D Can sleep in for once in 2 whole months!! =X I think I'm overworked, but I like working cos it makes me feel useful and hardworking cos I simply hate the idea of sitting at home and wasting my life away! That's why I have 5 and a half hours of tuition STRAIGHT! *faints* All because I cancelled 3 lessons! =( So I have to make up for all 3 tomorrow since the kids' exams are just round the corner! But good also lah, then I collect my pay on time too! Mummy wants to go to Bangkok after our Taiwan trip! *faints* Where got money to shop??!!

That was the message from the sermon on Sunday. And it was as though the message was specially for me!

God may not bless all Christians with earthly wealth, and many even have to go through much suffering before getting reprieved. And I know that though I may be darn broke, I will be rich in heaven. And though I will not stop complaining about not having as much dough as I would like to have, I don't feel the urge to take up more tuition assignments just so that I can get more money each month.

And because we were on the subject of BGR during lunch, I have decided that if God has called me to be celibate all my life, I will be that whole-heartedly. Celibacy is not a gift, it's a calling, so said my friend from church. Somehow, I have this feeling that maybe I've been called to do so. And maybe because I have set my heart on it, I have stopped looking out for my cute crush in school. And even when I see him, I don't try to catch his attention anymore. Whatever God has called me to do, I will follow.

Bah... As if he cares...

Anyways, been spending so much money just shopping randomly! Like on Wednesday, I was just walking around in Parkway, killing time before going for tuition at Marine Terrace and I ended up spending $80+ on mooncake and a handbag! =X Bought mooncakes from Isetan cos so many hotels were setting up mooncake stalls there. So I bought the liqour ones from Raffles The Plaza. Super yummy! The yolk is not the traditional type, it's white chocolate with liquor! OMG. Heavenly!

Went out with Sangeeta today after work for a much-deserved break. Had dinner at Hong Kong Cafe in Cineleisure and later went shopping! And I spent $47 on a dress! *faints* I'll be selling my backside before the month ends if I keep buying things like this!
I have mixed feelings.

On one hand I'm happy that my students gave me Teachers' Day card. On the other, I'm upset and disappointed that the school doesn't recognise our efforts at all.

I don't believe that we have not worked as hard as, if not even harder, the other permanent teachers. When the principal asked the teachers to go on stage after the Teachers' Day concert, Miss Soh and I did not go up because we felt that we were only relief teachers. The other teachers just stared at us from onstage, including my hunky crush, but none of them bother to call us up. We had to spend the rest of the time keeping the children quiet while the teachers were enjoying their cake onstage!

And when we went to the staff lounge to look for a teacher, the huge cake was just lying there and no one asked us to help ourselves. They just told us what work we had to do and left us alone.

Once again, how unappreciative can anyone be? Even the technical assistant got invited onstage! WTF! I know it seems so trivial, but the suckiest feeling in the world is when you have done so much for people and yet they don't appreciate your efforts, much less thank you for them.

Fuck it.
A Bad Day

The day started off on a very bad note, and call it superstition if you want, but I knew that it would continue to be bad.

Firstly, my mum wanted to get a lift from my dad to the MRT station this morning and she was late. Dilly-dally here and there, and we left the house at 7.35am instead of my usual 7.20! I was ready at 7.20, and had to wait for her to take her time to change clothes and all that. And guess what. I was late for work. It totally pissed me off and I didn't speak to her in the car.

And then I finally lost it in class. I finally broke down and cried cos it was too much for me. Somehow I think it's got to do with the extremely late nights for the past few weeks since I'd started work. And to my amazement, once I started crying, I couldn't stop! It reminded me so much of the episode in Gray's Anatomy where Yang broke down and she couldn't stop crying and she had to yell for her friends to stop her! The only difference was that I had no one there for me and I had to deal with it on my own.

Next, Miss Soh broke our date cos she decided that she had to go out with her bf cos he won't have another off day until after the IMF thingy. That, I could understand. So we decided that we could take half the day off to go for steamboat lunch instead of dinner and do abit of shopping at Bugis. But like an hour later, she messaged me to say that she told her bf that she was taking the day off and he was on the way to school to meet her already. Imagine my disappointment and anger. And I replied her with a scathing message, feeling remorseless.

But I've just received an email from this person I don't think I know, and it's about anger. What perfect timing.

"Taming our Hot Temper
Temper takes many forms. The form of temper we now adopt as adults depends very much on what was successfully applied on us as children. For example, if the significant adults had used temper to control us successfully, we now use temper to try to control others. Since we had focused on the injustice of the temper so much, we unconsciously imbibe the very behavior we hated.
Temper can be obvious or it can be subtle. Temper manifests itself in some of the following ways:
a) explosion----we rage, we use anger to lash out at others and intimidate them.
b) implosion----we give the silent treatment, we sulk, we turn it inward and beat ourselves up.
c) irritation---we have little tolerance, we are out of control.
d) repetition---we nag constantly, we are stuck in the same angry groove.
It is best to avoid all forms of anger because if we give anger an inch, it will take a mile. So don’t let anger get a foothold in our hearts. For once anger gets into our hearts, it is hard to uproot. And if we let the sun go down on our anger, our hearts will harden into resentment and bitterness.
We are the only one who can make ourselves angry. We choose how we respond to the event that upset us. The meaning we give to the event will determine whether we become angry or not. What we tell ourselves makes us angry. How? By telling ourselves that we have been taken undue advantage of, that we have been unfairly treated, abused, bullied, humiliated, browbeaten, intimidated, coerced or mercilessly whacked for minor mistakes or by recounting to ourselves all the perceived wrongs that have been done to us in the past. It is vital that we watch our thoughts as we can temporarily stop our anger when we change our thoughts or change what we tell ourselves. Yet, why do we often become more and more angry? Because we refuse to change our angry thoughts or we choose to churn over and over in our minds what we keep telling ourselves. And what we tell ourselves keep us locked in our anger prison.
Often, we become angry because we don’t get our ways. We have not learnt the art of allowing, tolerating, accommodating and accepting differences in views, values, mannerisms and perspectives.
Sometimes we become angry because current word or event triggers off some childhood abuse, fear or anxiety.
But, the ultimate objective of all forms of anger is to try to control the behavior of the other person. We use anger to intimidate, manipulate and subdue the other person.
Anger becomes most dangerous when it hardens our hearts and makes us so self-righteous that we cannot see our fault. What we cannot see, in ourselves, we cannot change. When we refuse to apologize for our anger we imprison ourselves in our own self-righteousness. We stand on our pride. We harden our heart. But when we start to say “I am sorry,” we begin to unburden our heart and release ourselves from our own imprisonment. Somehow the chain is removed. The shackle is broken. Sure some will take advantage of our apology but the heavy burden of being locked up in our own anger is lightened. Apology unlocks our heart for the reconciliation to begin.

1) Admit that we are in trouble
If people can easily trigger us into temper, sulking, impatience, or nagging then we have to admit that “I am out of control with my temper.” When we use temper so readily it becomes a form of emotional abuse. It also means that we are unable to discipline ourselves. We have lost self-control. We have not learnt to separate the important from the little things. We have not learnt to let the small stuff go.
Yes, we can find thousands of reasons why we are so easily provoked into uncontrollable anger and hold on to the anger right into the night. But, unless we recognize and admit that we have trouble with our hot temper, we will never start to tame our temper. As St James has advised, “Are any among you in trouble? They should pray.” (James 5:13 TEV)
Furthermore, we must admit that, often, our hot temper arises from nothing more than our resentment. Where there is resentment, there is a hardening of the heart and there is no forgiveness in our hearts. But, we must not forget that, “if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done.” (Matthew 6:15 TEV) So it is very important for us to repent and ask Jesus to help us to forgive. A forgiven person forgives, so it is vital that we learn to forgive ourselves also.
One practical way of forgiving is to pray for the one who hurts us, who causes us pain, or even harm. Jesus advises us to, ”pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:28 TEV) and “pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44 NJB).

3) Stop before the temper gets ugly
Anger is a choice. It is a choice to stop a disagreement before it gets ugly. It is a choice to stop and pray because we can sense the anger starting to boil inside and that our hearts are beginning to harden. If we want to control our anger, we should, “be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to human anger” (James 1:19 NJB).
The earlier we agree, the easier it is to stop the quarrel and the anger from developing. As Solomon says, “The start of an argument is like the first break in a dam; stop it before it goes any further.” (Proverbs 17:14 TEV), “Any fool can start arguments;”(Proverbs 20:3 TEV) and “The fool blurts out every angry feeling, but the wise subdues and restrains them.”(Proverbs 29:11 NJB) Jesus advises us “Come to terms with your opponent in good time while you are still on the way to the court with him” (Matthew 5:25 NJB)."

The email is longer than this, but I cut some parts. And I realized that I've been displaying all the different forms that anger takes. And I feel so ashamed of myself. I exploded at my class and remained irritated at them today. I was implosive towards Miss Soh. Though I think I could have handled the Miss Soh situation better, I stand by my decision that when her bf has no time to accompany her, I will not play the second fiddle. It's not that I'm not understanding, but I really hate it when people break dates. At least let me know the day before so that I can make plans for myself and myabe pack my gym stuff just in case I want to work out, right?

And I will keep praying and praying because God is my only friend who will not disappoint me. Every single friend has disappointed me. I'm finally disillusioned. Cos there's no such thing as true friends.

Ok, so I've got a dumbass job at Ngee Ann Primary, dealing with horrible, ill-disciplined kiddos and a few gross colleagues. =X And even the school cleaners get better treatment than us teacher assistants! =X

But on the bright side, there's this completely droolicious and sexy hunk of a teacher there too! =D Yummy! OMG. Everytime I see him, I just fall at his feet! Haha.. Ok, so that's really exaggerating it abit too much, but he has a totally hot body and really nice eyes! Oohhh... And his voice is like, awww.... =D

Anyways, back to the gross colleagues part, I have a colleague who doesn't wash her hands after visiting the toilet! =X Eeewwww..... She just slams the cubicle door open and practically flies out of the toilet! =X So Miss Soh and I have taken to using a piece of tissue to hold the handle door. And I make sure I don;t touch anything that she has touched before! =X

Teacher's Day is coming! =D And guess what?! Miss Soh and I are invited to the school's Teacher's Day dinner at Marina Mandarin next Wednesday! =D And the theme is Oscars Night! =D Whoohoo!!! I've planned what to wear a;ready! Making a backless halter top out of a huge scarf and pairing it with loose black pants and maybe boots! =D How's that? I'm so EXCITED!!! *hyperventilates* =D I'm going to take the opportunity to take a pic with my fabulous hunk! =D Muahahahaha....

Payday's tomorrow! =D I'm a happy girl today!

Thank God I have managed to hold on to my temper this week. Cos I say a little prayer before entering every class, asking God to give me the patience to handle the class and not scream at them. I even went back to work today to rush an assignment even though it was a day off for me. And I didn't dilly-dally to fulfil the half-day requirement (we will only get paid if we stay for at least half day -- 4hrs 15mins; no pay for a shorter duration). Just left after I've finished what I was supposed to do.

I feel so very disappointed with my life. I look at others and they seem to have it all -- good looks, good skin, slim body, lotsa money and smart brains. I'm not greedy, just one of these will do. But I have none. But I believe that God has better plans for me. If He doesn't, then I'm really screwed.

Being an auntie pays off!

The prize for being an auntie! =D

Anyways, before my family arrived, I opened Lava's present to me! =D Couldn't wait to go home and open it, so I just opened it at the restaurant!

The original packaging

As requested: my clutch!

As requested: Adidas water bottle, Shayne Ward CD, Fort Minor CD

And the packaging was reduced to this! =D By the way, I ripped it apart! =D

And so I had a really happy birthday yesterday! =D I'm 20 already! =X But to me, I'll always be only 19! Muahahahaha... Ooohhhh, and I baked my own birthday cake today! =D OMG. Damn hard work! Baked the cake, frosting and chocolate fillinf from SCRATCH!!! No instant cake mix or store bought frosting! I think I was in the kitchen for about 5 hours! =X No more cake-baking for me! I'll stick to cookies, thank you very much! But anyways, I'm really proud of myself! *thunderous applause* =D

And..... thanks to everyone who remembered my birthday and who wished me! =D *big kisses*

OMG. I was supposed to be doing my PR assignment to be handed in tomorrow and what did I do?

I watched the Chinese drama serial on Channel 8, read magazine, watched Project Runway and just finished surfing the Net for recipes on cakes and cookies. =X I DON'T WANNA DO THE DUMB-ASS ASSIGNMENT!

Anyway, I've decided that I'll bake a cake this week and give it to someone! Don't ask me what for, cos I don't know either. Just feel like baking and since I'm back on diet after spending $230 on Hydroxycut and CLA pills from GNC, I can't eat the cake! =X And yes, I blew 80% of my August allowance on diet pills. =X

Anyway, I think I'm going to sleep now. I'll think about the assignment tomorrow. =X

Went out with Uncle Tong yesterday to have an early birthday celebration. Wanted to catch "Hoodwinked" at first cos it came out on 20 July. But guess what? Bugis Shaw cinema wasnt showing it! =X So we actually thought of going to PS GV cinema to watch it, but there wasn't enough time cos he made dinner reservations for 7pm. And it was already 4.30 then. Yup. So we decided to go to Bugis Village. =D

And OMG. I never expected Bugis Village to hold so many treasures! All those off-shoulder tops, dresses, bags, shoes and watches! I was like some suaku wow-ing here and there. I felt as though I was in another country! Bugis Village reminded me of Hong Kong's Ladies' Market! Anyway, as luck would have it, I HAD NO MONEY ON ME!!!!! =X I had only $30, so I bought 3 pairs of earrings (my one GREAT weakness), my long-awaited Nan Quan Mama album and an eyelash curler! =D So I still have $10 for today, and then my allowance comes in tomorrow! =D I'm soooo going back to Bugis Village to get those tops that I've been eyeing!

Ooohhh... Then we went to Ma Maison, this Jap-Western restaurant at The Edge. The decor was so cool, and the food was so YUMMY! And they gave us a key thingy as a mode of payment. So after your meal you just bring the key to the cashier and they bill you!

The super nice key! Ok.. Abit dim.. But still can see abit!

Benny's clam chowder and my onion gratin soup! Yum!

My super delish beef stroganoff (aka beef omurice)

His hamburger steak

A super cute old-fashioned telephone at the entrance/exit of the restaurant. Took it while he was footing the bill.

Then we went opposite Parco to eat dessert. As usual, suaku me didn't know that there were so many makan places outside Parco.

Benny's peanut paste and my coffe flavoured fresh milk with steamed egg. Damn good! =D Of course, he paid! Muahahaha.... It was a good day yesterday. He was actually NICE! Anyway, I insisted on walking along the streets to check out other eating places so that I can go back next time! I saw this steamboat restaurant that uses porridge as the base instead of soup! How interesting! Can get Miss Soh to go with me! That girl is a steamboat freak!

Oh, and he took a pic with this big-headed Jap doll that was walking around Parco. The head was so big that someone was holding its head so that it wouldn't topple! How cute!

Mum and sis are finally back from Hokkaido. Just when I was getting used to them not being around and enjoying my newfound freedom! But anyways, glad that they are back.

OMG. They bought sooooooooooooo many boxes of chocolates and biscuits! *faints* I am so going to put on weight again! They bought Sapporo chocolate! They are chocs with Sapporo beer inside! Yummy! And my mum took a pic with Michelle Chong!

So pretty right!
OMG. Nick is out! ='( I mean, I knew it a long time ago since Lava told me. But it broke my heart to see him cry! =( He looked so handsome in the suit Chloe made for him! I would rather have Santino out, cos he's a total asshole. I can't even begin to describe what a shithead he is! Seriously, I thought Nick's design for Daniel was quite nice, minus all the crumpling lah. But at least he sewed everything on right. Not like the asshole who had to glue the jumpsuit onto poor Kara. =X And of course, Daniel looked soooooooooooo adorable in the European suit! I thought he looked damn good lah. Not effeminate at all! But everytime I see Daniel I have to remind myself that he's freaking GAY!!! =X

And as usual, Daniel reminded me of a certain someone. =D *swoons* And I sure hope that the certain someone is NOT gay! Anyways, caught Living with Fran after PR 2, and it was really quite funny lah. Fran Drescher is quite a comedian actually. And the guy acting as her lover is sure darn good-looking! =D More reason for me to watch it! =D

Presentation is FINALLY over! But gotta brace myself for another one for PR. =X And I'm sure NOT going to put so much effort into it this time. Bottomline: NOT WORTH IT!

OMG. That Dr Milton is such an asshole! He left the poor girl with her hand in the man's body, holding the bomb still! =X But Meredith is damn brave lah. She stuck her hand in when the girl took hers out. But today's episode of Grey's Anatomy was too sad for me. And too abrupt. I like the part when George was dreaming about the 3 girls though. Hilarious man.

Anyways, can't wait for next week's episode of Desperate Housewives! I think that's when Gabrielle will throw Carlos out! And did you know that the girl acting as Xiao Mei (Gabrielle's maid) is actually Minister George Yeo's niece?! I read about it quite long time ago. *stunned* And how did she get to act opposite such wonderful people??!

Anyways, on to other stuff. I feel undermined by some people. Like my contributions are not valued. I try to contribute and all get cast aside and when crunch time comes, I'm made to feel like I've not done enough. 'Nuff said.

The perfect slogan for me: Life sucks.
